Some of you may not realise it but you are neglecting your jukebox.

Often after owning a jukebox for some years, you may start to overlook its full potential, allowing it to become just another familiar piece of furniture that occupies space in your home. Initially, the jukebox may have been a centerpiece, a conversation starter, and a source of joy, filling your living area with music and nostalgia. However, as time passes, it can easily fade into the background, appreciated more for its visual appearance than for its musical capabilities. You might find yourself merely switching it on occasionally, not to enjoy the melodies it can produce, but rather to take advantage of the ambient lighting it provides, which can create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The colorful lights that dance across the room can evoke a sense of nostalgia, reminding you of the lively gatherings and joyful moments that once filled the space. Yet, crucially, the jukebox itself is never played enough, its collection of tunes lying dormant, waiting to be rediscovered. This gradual neglect can happen for various reasons. Life gets busy, and the initial excitement of curating a playlist and sharing your favorite tracks with friends and family can diminish over time. You may find yourself reaching for more modern forms of entertainment, such as streaming services or digital playlists, which offer convenience and an endless array of options at the touch of a button. The jukebox, with its physical mechanics and limited selection, can seem less appealing in comparison. However, it’s important to remember the charm and character that a jukebox brings to a space. Each record it holds carries a story, a memory, or a connection to a specific moment in time. Rediscovering those records and the joy they can bring might rekindle your appreciation for this unique piece of equipment. Perhaps it’s time to host a retro-themed gathering, inviting friends over to experience the magic of flipping through vinyl and selecting songs to play, reigniting the excitement that once surrounded your jukebox. In doing so, you may find that the jukebox is not just a relic of the past but a vibrant part of your home that deserves to be enjoyed and celebrated once more. By dusting off those records and letting the music fill your space, you can transform the jukebox from a neglected piece of furniture back into the heart of your entertainment, where laughter, dancing, and shared memories can flourish anew.

Sometimes the jukebox develops a fault, which can manifest in various ways, such as skipping tracks, failing to accept coins, or producing distorted sound. When these issues arise, the excitement and joy that once accompanied the ownership of the jukebox can quickly diminish. You may find yourself unable to fix it, either due to a lack of technical knowledge or the unavailability of replacement parts. This can lead to a sense of frustration and helplessness, as the once vibrant and lively machine becomes a mere shadow of its former self. As time passes, the poor old juke gets ignored in the corner, collecting dust and fading into the background of your home or establishment. Eventually, the spark that made you buy it—the nostalgia for the golden age of rock and roll, the desire to create an inviting atmosphere for friends and family, or the dream of reliving cherished memories through music—gets forgotten. The vibrant colors of the jukebox, once a centerpiece of joy and entertainment, now appear dull and lifeless. The 'Thrill' of owning that jukebox, which once brought a sense of pride and excitement, is replaced by a feeling of loss and regret. You may reminisce about the countless hours spent selecting songs, the laughter shared with friends over a favorite tune, and the dance parties that erupted in your living room. However, as the machine sits silently, it serves as a reminder of the joy that has become a distant memory, leaving you to ponder whether it is worth the effort to restore it to its former glory or if it should simply be left to fade away.

So if it's broken get it fixed !

Go out and buy a small selection of new tunes to mix with your old discs.

Play it often and LOUD and the thrill will be back !

Thanks to B B King and his great tune "The Thrill is Gone"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fk2prKnYnI
